Absolutely fantastic... "Paint the Night" Parade is Disney's latest dose of magic that brings technology and creativity together for a stunning 18-minute show along Main Street USA.
So what is"Paint the Night" about? It's about dazzling lights and colours, gorgeous shimmering costumes, state-of-the-art floats and over 80 glowing performers, all perfectly coreographed to typical Disney catchy tunes, and oh yes, interactive features that allow the public to change the colour of the cast members costumes... yes, you really get to "Paint the Night"!
How does that work? Well, you have to buy Mickey's Magic Paint Brush which becomes your magic wand that allows you to sprinkle your own bit of glitter with a push of a button by changing the glowing reds into blues into yellows into magentas...
The effects are incredible, fiber optics and LED light galore. Everything glimmers, everything twinkles, everything shines, even the performers hair, eyebrows, eyelashes... The show has been two years in the making and luckily, Hong Kong Disney will be the first one of all parks in the Disney family to host it.
Who's in the parade? There are several floats and the themes range from a good mix of the newer Pixar characters as well as our old-time beloved classics.
...Twirling magic fairies and Tinker Bell enveloped in a cloud of pixie dust open the parade...
...Next up is top scarer Sulley on the Monsters Inc. float...
...and riding in the back is his one-eyed buddy, Mike Wazowski. The panels on the float show scenes from the movie, the "doors", other fellow monsters as well as Boo.
...Next up is another Pixar float: Cars
...of course Lightning McQueen tags along for the ride...
...We enter the undersea world, and it's King Triton and Ariel front and center in a gorgeous grotto. Don't miss all the Little Mermaid friends here and there, Sebastian, Flounder...
...Now brace yourself, the next one is drop-dead gorgeous. Welcome to the ball... pageantry and old world charm... ball gowns and chandeliers...
...Belle, the rose, and many passages of this classic story display on the stunning float...
It's Toy Story time, Slinky comes bouncing down with Woody up front and Buzz bringing up the rear...
And finally our classics.. Goofy, Donald, Minnie... each in their own bubble float...
...The Grand Finale is Mickey in his sorcerer's hat and red and gold robe, very much atuned to Chinese detail...
...Atop yet another stunning bright incredible float...
